Corporate History

In his early career, Ron gained 12 years experience at Jarvis Clark (now Sandvik) as manager of custom and R&D projects while building over 1500 units.

To date, Ron has obtained over 40 years of underground mining experience.

Ron's first shop opened in 1980 in a home garage, it was crowded, but efficient. In 1983 Ron loaded the Mine Kart on his homemade boat trailer and traveled to mines to demo and sell it. A detailed list of Miller Technology achievements are written below.

  • 1979 U/G mobile equipment design and consulting service
  • 1980 Incorporated as Miller Technology Inc.
  • 1982 Designed and built prototype Mine Kart in home garage
  • 1983 OACETT “Outstanding Technical Achievement”
  • 1985 Built 300 sq. ft. plant and 1000 sq. ft. office space
  • 1987 Expanded the plant to 6000 sq. ft.
  • 1989 Became a Toyota Landcruiser dealer
  • 1990 Expanded the plant to 13000 sq. ft. and office to 2000 sq. ft.
  • 1991 Built 3 mechanized bolter screeners for Falconbridge
  • 1992 Awarded the Northern Ontario “Business of the Year” award for 16 to 50 people
  • 1992 Became JCB Construction Dealer
  • 1992 Developed Easy Rider Mine Kart with suspension
  • 1994 Opened sales office in Sudbury Ontario
  • 1995 Developed Triple 4ce multi-functional utility carrier
  • 1995 ISO 9002 certified
  • 1995 CWB W47.1 Certification of plant “Canadian Welding Bureau”
  • 1995 Created “RHM Equipment Sales and Service” industrial division for local area
  • 1995 Opened a sales branch in Malartic Quebec
  • 1995 Established international distributors in Chile, Peru, Mexico, and the USA.
  • 1996 Became Komatsu Forklift Dealer
  • 2001 Purchased and Setup Sales and Service branch at 67 Ferris Drive North Bay, ON
  • 2003 Company of the year 16-50 employees
  • 2002 Became LamTrac Dealer for Snow Groomer
  • 2003 Named as Canada Innovation Leader
  • 2004 Developed the “Miller Lifter” to handle recloser
  • 2005 Introduced the LamTrac Forestry Mulcher
  • 2006 Underground Grader Dealer for Canada
  • 2007 Sudbury Facility
    • 4000 square foot building with Office and Warehouse space
    • Parts Distribution Centre for Sudbury and Western Ontario
    • Forklifts repairs and maintenance
    • Equipment repairs and maintenance
  • 2007 Production Shop Expansion
    • 2400 sq. ft. office and lunch room
    • 4300 sq. ft. shop expansion
  • 2009 Ron Miller awarded SAMSSA (Sudbury Area Mining Supply and Service Association) Hall of Fame
